I just love birthday parties! This is sweet Morgan and she just turned 1, it's even more fun when it's their first birthday. She definitely kept the party going. I had a blast photographing her special day and then going out with the whole family afterwards for a family photo shoot. Enjoy!

Rare Privilege

Had a blast over Christmas getting to take photos of my family! We were able to get together with both sides of the family and commemorate some good times together before we leave for Japan for three years! Thanks so much my family for putting up with Robert and I and our nerdiness (with our tripods and camera remotes). Hope you enjoy...we sure did :D

My friend's sweet daughter, Elliana just turned 6 months old and I had the pleasure of taking some pictures of her and her family. It was so much fun, they had us over for a wonderful dinner and then we took pictures around the house. She is such a happy baby, it didn't take much to make her laugh and smile. The following photos are of Baby Elle. It's three photo sessions total and you'll see Allie (Elle's mom) about 36 hours from labor with a very round belly, baby Elle's first day at the hospital and then her first week at home. This girl is absolutely adorable and already showing how unique she is by being born with a tooth and having a definite attitude of her own...haha, she is so precious. It was such a joy to take pictures of Rich and Allie and their precious baby girl. So nice to meet you sweet Elle Marie!

This amazing couple was married last month on board a boat on the water in downtown Savannah. It was a beautiful ceremony, that had to be moved inside because of rain. This lovely couple was married this Saturday in downtown Savannah! Their wedding photos will be posted shortly, but I thought I should share these before hand. I took these pictures a few weeks ago. They were such troopers and met me at 7:30 am on a Saturday. Our morning was filled with coffee, lots of laughter, and even some trespassing...oops, sorry guys! It was a great way to start a weekend! Most weeks are quite similar for me, as it is with most people when it comes to work. I meet families, get to know them for an hour or more as a photograph them, chat with them on the phone about details and then I go on my way. This past week was different for me. One family had quite an impact on my life.

During my routine pre-shoot phone call about the details of the photography session, the mom informed me her nieces would be joining them in the photo shoot. It wasn't an unusual request, many people bring extended family with them. The big kicker with this shoot is that I was going to have to drive 2 hours to get to the beach where they were staying, but I decided to make the most of it. I got over half way to their beach in Charleston on Monday and I received a phone call. It was the dad and he said it was pouring rain and they needed to reschedule for Tuesday. I was a little irritated that I had put a bunch of miles on my car and was going to have to go back the next day which meant I was going to have to miss my weekly Bible study.

Tuesday rolled around and I made the trip up to north Charleston for a second time. After I took several pictures of the family everyone went back to their condo and I was left with the mom and her oldest son to finish up with some senior pictures for him. We started talking and she informed me that they were the care takers for the girls, then she went on to tell me that they had recently lost their mother to breast cancer. I had noticed pink ribbon tattoos on both parent's wrists during the shoot and asked if they were in memory of her and as I thought, they were. I went on to talk to the mom about the loss of her sister and it was hard to not tear up. I left that photo shoot so thankful to have been able to photograph this amazing family. I believe God places certain people in our lives at a specific time for a reason, even if only for a couple hours.

Meet Drake, you met his parents a while ago, Justin and Tavia. These were his 2 month baby photos, isn't he precious?! This little guy was such a good sport for photos, actually he's always a good sport. He goes with his mom everywhere, I should know, I go with them everywhere too! He's a great shopping buddy, he's loves to just chill with us and every time we eat, he eats! I love this kid, he's ever changing and becoming some such an adorable little boy...you'll definitely see more of him as he grows. Enjoy...

two families and a wedding

At the beginning of last week I photographed two adorable families and a sunrise wedding. The families were such great sports and fun to work with, but the sunrise wedding was absolutely beautiful! This couple had know each other their whole lives, but didn't meet back up until a couple years ago with a 30 absence in between. The only attendants were their parents and her kids, the groom's dad performed the ceremony and was a former chaplain in the military. I had a great time with them and was so honored to share in their day...even though it was a 4 am start for me! Enjoy...

I photographed two adorable families this morning. One had some adorable boys who ended up going shirtless and running along the beach...haha! The other family was from Ft. Worth, TEXAS! We had so much fun talking about Texas and how much we love it. Their three girls and little boy came out dressed in handmade outfits and every single one of them was soaked from head to toe by the end of the shoot! They are definitely some cute little kids.

These two shoots almost didn't happen. We had some crazy weather down on Hilton Head on Monday. It poured rain my entire drive to the beach and then finally let up. My clients arrived, all 15 of them in white and khaki (i'm sure you've noticed the trend) and then it started pouring rain again. We ran and took shelter underneath the awning by the bathrooms...haha, it was a little crowded with 15 people. About 10 minutes passed and it was barely sprinkling, so we went for it. I was able to get two shoots done and the moment I got into my car, it started pouring rain again...I'm so thankful the rain held off for as long as it did and thankful for my flexible clients who waited it out!

Meet Kristin and Ron. I photographed they're beautiful wedding at the Holiday Inn on Hilton Head last night. The ceremony took place on the beach and during the entire wedding a huge storm was rolling in. Lightening was striking and the wind was picking up, but not one drop of rain until we were inside! The storm made for some gorgeous skies. Congratulations and best wishes to the bride and groom!

Our memorial day weekend was a blast. We spent Monday morning downtown at the parade and then after that we took pictures of Rich and Allie. These two are going to have one hilarious daughter. They were so great to work with and were patient as we walked all over downtown. These guys are some of our best friends here in Beaufort, it always a pleasure to be able to take pictures for friends like these. Meet Tavia & Justin! They are the proud new parents of Drake Elliot, that's right, I took this adorable couple's photos on Friday, May 15 and baby Drake was born Sunday, May 17. Wheeeew, we cut it close. They're an amazing couple that we've met out here in South Carolina, it's like we've known each other forever! It's so nice to have friends like that. We had a great time taking pictures on Laurel Bay, out by the water. After the photo shoot we ended the night with pizza and a few rounds of scene it. Sweet Eliana

I met Eliana's mom (Kelli) at a class for Marine Corps wives when I first moved to South Carolina and we became fast friends. She was pregnant at the time with this sweet little girl. I was able to meet Eliana and her mom and dad at a beautiful park/land preserve near our houses. She was the PERFECT little subject! She was so content and was completely infatuated with my big camera lens. Thanks to Kelli and Brian for letting me take pics of their beautiful little blessing!

Beaufort Twilight Run

My husband and I and one of his friends from work, Logan, were hired by the company fast track photography to photograph the first annual Beaufort Twilight Run. It was an 8k race with a child's race 30 minutes prior. It was a beautiful day for a race and hundreds of people came out to participate. My favorite racers were those pushing strollers, some double strollers...it was quite impressive! My favorite part of the race was the beginning when I got to go up on a lift to shoot aerial shots. This lift was made from plywood and not very sturdy. The man who was running the machinery to lift me over the crowd warned me, not to lean on the railing because it was homemade and not too sturdy...haha, quite the adventure! After the race there was a feast of hot dogs, grilled chicken and roasted oysters, it was a party.

My bro and his fiance, Nicole are one stinkin' cute couple! They're getting married in April and I was able to take their engagement photos before I left Texas in October. There were so many great shots, I wanted to upload more, but I stopped myself. They're just so photogenic it was hard to chose. The happy couple actually met through church/work. My brother and I worked together at the church we attended in Texas and when it came time for me to get married and move away we had to find someone to replace me. That's when Nicole walked into his life, she was hired to take my job, ironic...but true! I can't imagine anyone more suited for my bro, she's perfect for him! Congrats to the happy couple and I'll see you soon.

This set was actually taken recently. My friend Darla and her husband Jeff are pregnant with their first child. I was able to stop by their house and take these pictures at a park in their neighborhood when I was in Texas last month. Isn't she gorgeous?! Look at that adorable baby bump! Also, they are waiting to find out the sex of the baby until he/she is born...awwww! So the baby is affectionally named, baby batman, but they'll have to tell you why...haha!

...but we're ok with it! My husband and I did actually take our own engagement pictures, but before you get smart about it, think about the money we save.....that's right! We took our photos at the place where I was house sitting before I got married, yes, I lived in paradise, aka: the Nicholson residence before I married...haha! It was beautiful and I can't thank the Nicholsons enough for letting me stay there. As you can tell we had a blast. Love this man!

Meet Katherine! She's a beautiful little girl adopted by the youth minister and his wife (Jimmy & Shonda) at my former church. Katherine is a such a blessing to her family, they fought for 2 years to be able to bring her home from Guatemala. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard in a photo session as I did with this little handful. She's always in total control and she's not afraid to be the boss, she is one little princess. Love this girl and miss her and her family so much!

...all my brothers, sisters and me (I think that's how it goes...haha)! That's right, I had the privilege of taking photos for my sister-in-law Alison and her husband Chris. Engagement pics with these two were hilarious, very entertaining couple and they bought my breakfast at Chick-fil-a and then ice cream after the gig was over. You can't beat that! They were married at their church's outdoor ceremony area at First Baptist Allen (they were actually the first wedding held there). It was a short but very sweet ceremony followed by a beautiful reception in McKinney. Thanks for letting me be apart of your special day!
